Morag’s wheely big jump for pets

Plucky Morag Mathieson would do anything to help poor pets - even leaping 100-feet down the Falkirk Wheel boat lift.

The Troon gran has been a supporter of the Scottish SPCA for more than 20 years - and her latest adventure raised £1,366.50

And she said:“I’m going to be 70 later this year so I wanted to do a big fundraiser before I get too old.

“I don’t jog – so the marathons were quite out of the question, and the abseil didn’t require any training

“Climbing over the railings was probably the hardest part of the event but it was all worth it in the end, even if the descent was over before I knew it.”

Morag was welcomed to the ground by her proud grandsond Kier.

She is the chairman of the South Ayrshire SSPCA Supporter Group.

The charity’s chief executive Kirsteen Campbell said:“Morag’s contribution has been invaluable and is a true testament to her passion for helping animals.”
