Thinking of taking up golf but worried about the cost?

South Ayrshire Council is giving you the opportunit­y to play Maybole Golf Course for free.

The offer runs until Friday, July 13, and you can try this attractive nine-hole parkland course for absolutely nothing.

Enjoying uninterrup­ted views of the Carrick Hills, Maybole is an ideal course for beginners or those looking for a more relaxing round of golf.

With no more than a few hazards and generous fairways, Maybole is perfect choice for those new to the sport.

The course features a practice facility and putting green which will also be free to use during the free period.

Don’t have any clubs? Well you can always borrow a set at the course, subject to availabili­ty and a deposit.

Councillor Brian McGinley, Economic Developmen­t, Tourism and Leisure Portfolio Holder for South Ayrshire Council said: “We’re using our facilities to give as many people as possible access to leisure.

“Being active is a great way to improve health and wellbeing so I hope people in Maybole and beyond get involved and feel the benefit.”

If you’re interested in trying golf at Maybole for free, rounds can be booked by calling 01292 616255 or by checking in at Maybole Swimming Pool reception.

For anyone looking to take up the sport, the council’s Get Into Golf Membership combines access to South Ayrshire golf courses with a package of coaching specifical­ly for beginners for just £112 for seven months and it’s even cheaper with an Access to Leisure Card.
