Don’ t penalise shoppers

-

Just over a year ago I moved back to live in Ayr permanently.

Visiting the town by car poses a problem as car parks charge hourly fees and therefore I tend to spend minimum time in town so that I don’t incur a parking penalty.

Last week I decided to park in Morrison’s supermarket intending to enjoy a leisurely stroll in town and shop in the store before returning home.

I’m in my mid 70s and due to knee problems I do mean “leisurely.”

I enjoyed having my nails polished. Looking round the shops before visiting Hourston’s for a cup of tea and then treating myself to some new summer clothes.

I then returned to Morrison’s, did some grocery shopping and then returned home.

Much to my horror, this morning I opened a letter with a £100 parking fine.

You can be sure that I won’t be shopping in Ayr again - Silverburn Here I come.

Lots of free parking and lovely shops to browse. Shame on you Ayr.
