Prestwick sportsman climbs up the ranks

-

A Prestwick FootGolfer has climbed to sixth in the sport’s new UK rankings.

It follows Gavin Craig losing out narrowly in a national Super Series event to current world number one, Ben Clarke.

Gavin, who finished tied fourth, is bidding to qualify for the UK team at the World Cup in Marrakech this December. Gavin finished runner-up in the latest Scottish Tour event at Bridgend Golf Club on Sunday.

Ayr Roodlea landed the spoils in FootGolf’s first ever Ayrshire derby when beating Kilmarnock 11-7 at Caprington.

Club captain Gavin notched the only under par round of the night as Ayr claimed victory.

He said:“Everyone played their part in what was a fantastic night for the club.”
