Indy Ref 2 is on its way

-

I’m not a fully paid - up member of MP Bill Grant’s fan club – though I still hold the view he’s the best man we’ve had in the Commons for years.

But if he wants to use phrases like “the vast majority of Scots” at Prime Minister’s Question Time – I suggest he include the Brexit referendum and not just the independence version.

The “vast majority of Scots” voted to stay in Europe – and I think Bill will find that includes the vast majority of his constituents. This weekend sees the second anniversary of that momentous vote – and I’d go as far as to say the majority wanting to remain has increased . . . significantly!

I like to think my humble establishment is a fair sampling of Bill’s constituency. Before the Euro referendum, Brexiteers were pretty thin on the ground. Two years on - they’d now qualify as an endangered species! Bill’s brown- tinged question to the PM came before events that led to the SNP’s now infamous “walk- out” from the Commons. It made a mockery of Theresa May’s reply to Bill – “now is the time for the UK to be pulling together”. Brexit is pulling the UK apart, the Commons apart and the Tories apart. It will eventually pull Scotland apart – from the UK.

Unless the UK gets a Brexit 2 – an Indyref 2 is inevitable. I wonder how the “vast majority of Scots” will vote on that one, Bill?
