Golf event tees up winner

-

The local branch of Cancer Research UK was one of the two main beneficiaries of this year’s Annual Prestwick Rotary Golf AMAM at Prestwick Golf Club.

The AMAM attracted 68 golfers from Ayrshire businesses with the purpose of having fun, fellowship and raising finances for charity.

On all counts it was a highly successful event.

As the main sponsor, Buzzworks works with the Rotary Club of Prestwick to nominate one of the two main beneficiary charities.

Debi Bradford, customer relations manager at Buzzworks, who assisted the Rotary Club at the donation handover, said: “It is the staff here who select the recipient and they are delighted to nominate Cancer Research UK as the beneficiary of the Rotary Club’s tournament this year.”

Local Cancer Research UK Branch Chair, Ruby Taylor said: “We are delighted to receive this very generous donation. It is a great boost to our funds and every penny goes towards cutting edge research into cancer.”

Richie Cameron, president of the Rotary Club of Prestwick, said: “It is great to be part of three local organisations working together to support the common good.

“In addition to Buzzworks and Prestwick Golf Club we would also like to thank all the advertisers and sponsors for their great support.”

Many Prestwick Main Street businesses support the AMAM including Grants, Stewart Travel, Netherfield Dental Practice, McPhee Opticians, Post Office, Golf Inn, Atomcreate, Parkstone Hotel, IBS Tapes, Prestwick Flight Centre, Halewood Intl.
