Home is castle for gala day
House about that!
A family home was turned into Castle Graham by 150 hard- working primary kids.
The decoration was done to celebrate a unique occasion in Troon when the Graham triplets made up the whole royal gala party this year.
Queen Eilidh and Princesses Morna and Aeva are all going into primary seven at Troon Primary.
And teacher Helen Mathews said: “Never again will three pupils from Troon Primary make up the royal party.
“And as a Rights Respecting school we wanted to celebrate. Our pupils worked hard to turn their home into a castle befitting their status.”
Classes worked together to produce bunting, flowers, plates and signs spelling out the Rights Respecting message and together with local artist, Jinty Maxwell, transformed the sandstone home of the royal family into Castle Graham.
The girls took up their royal duties on Saturday after being crowned at the gala day.
Poppy Hamilton from Primary 5 said: “We wanted to share information about children’s rights by including it in our decorations.”
Logan Fallows added: “All children have rights, but in some countries, like Haiti, disasters like earthquakes and flooding mean it’s harder to make sure children actually get those rights. Even in Scotland, where we should all enjoy our rights automatically, children with Cystic Fibrosis, for example, have to fight for the medication they need just because it’s expensive.”
