Scotland’s largest free community festival sees up to 50,000 visitors descend on the town to enjoy food, music, processions and all the fun of the fair.
The festival also boasts its annual flower show that sees local horticultural enthusiasts battle it out for the trophies for their fruit and veg and flowers. August 25- 26 Robert Burns Food and Drink Festival, Robert Burns Birthplace Museum
This is a two- day food and live entertainment extravaganza for the whole family.

September 1- 9 Largs Viking Festival, Largs
Started in 1980 this annual festival marks the 1263 Battle of Largs, the last mainland battle between the Scots and Norse.
Each year the living history Viking Village is open to the public so that they can get a glimpse of what life would have been like in a 13th Century Viking Village.
You can go along and hear them talk about their way of life; learn about how they made their clothes, weapons, jewellery and food in the recreated Viking village.
