Golfing marathon

-

A selfless pair of primary school teachers are getting set to do something special for charity.

Colin McCaw and Iain Lindsay, who teach at Muirhead Primary, will play a whopping 72 holes of golf in one day in an effort to raise cash for Mission International.

The charity’s aims are to help countries who have been badly affected by natural disasters or horrendous poverty.

And 32- year- old Colin, who plays off a 10 handicap, said: “Over the past year my school has linked up with Mission International.

“Richard Woods is a pastor at a church in Troon and he does a lot of work for the charity.

“So Iain and I are going to be combining this with our hobby, golf, and doing a sponsored fundraiser.

“And the aim is to help out Haiti and help them recover from the earthquake they suffered from in 2010.

“Richard is a rep for the charity and he is very persuasive.

“His passion and dedication for the charity is amazing so we wanted to pay that back and help him out somehow.”

They will play Darley, Lochgreen and two rounds at Fullarton on July 26.

Colin has set up a Give. net page to raise the cash.

He has raised £ 100 so far and aims to raise £ 10 per hole, which works out at £ 720.
