What you think of The Donald’s visit

-

so the President is flying into turnberry this week. And while some are not too bothered by the prospect of Donald trump calling at the world- famous hotel resort and golf course, others are not at all keen on the visit going ahead. We asked the people in Ayr High street what they made of the potential visit. Alan todd, 74, of Ayr, said: “the man is just a hard- nosed businessman. He’s just trying to make his job easier. “I think he cares a lot about his golf courses, even though he is charging much more for it now. “I hope he pays for the police when he comes to visit.” Judith Paterson, 66, of Ayr, said: “I have an American grandson. I’m concerned about Mr trump’s behaviour. “I’m annoyed about him visiting. He’s not coming for business, he’s only coming for a holiday. I’m angry.” John Rodger, 65, of larkhall, is on holiday in Ayr. He said: “If he wants to come here, he can. He’s the man. “It’s neither here nor there. Fair enough, he’s going to get a lot of grief but it wouldn’t matter if it were him or anyone else. Anyone is bound to get grief. I think he’ll be an asset to scotland more than anything else. He’s going to do us more good than bad.” Archie Ballantyne, 71, of Patna, said: “Who’s paying for it, us? the man is a maniac. “look at what he’s doing to Mexico and the children. A lot of locals will not be happy about the visit. the man is not liked.” President trump arrives at turnberry on Friday night.
