Subject

Lets talk about taboo

- Abi Smilie

“Death happens” - that is the voice of a leading charity aiming to highlight a subject often seen as taboo later this week. But Good Life, Good Death, Good Grief think ‘ we can all help each other’ when it comes to dealing with death, dying and bereavement. The charity, and an alliance of organisations and individuals throughout Ayrshire, aim to discuss the topic at a free event at Ayr Town Hall on Friday at 12.30pm. Good Life, Good Death, Good Gri e f b e l i e v e this generation is often unpre p a re d f o r t h e inevitability of life ending and lacking in knowledge of the implications. The event is organised by the Ayrshire Hospice, Rotary clubs across South Ayrshire and other community members. John Ewing of Ayr Rotary Club said: “It’s just such a taboo subject and we want to address that. “But it’s not just for older people - it’s for younger folk with parents or grandparents who want some future advice.”
