Shankland artwork up for grabs
A unique painting of Ayr goal king Lawrence Shankland is among a raft of items to be auctioned to fans. Artist Richard MacDonald, who has painted several of the club’s stars over the years, has been commissioned for the work. His piece on the 29- goal striker goes to the highest bidder at Ayr’s shirt- andshorts draw which takes place this Friday night. Other prizes up for grabs include a stay for two in Culzean Castle’s Eisenhower Suite. Wine and whisky- tasting tours, a one- off bottle of 21- year- old Balvennie single malt and other prizes will also be up for grabs on the night. Advance bids are welcome on all items and can be placed by emailing commercial@ ayrunitedfc. co. uk. Friday night’s event will feature a Q& A with boss Ian McCall. Entry to the sponsorship draw is £ 150 with the winner receiving their name or that of their company on the back of United’s kit for the season. Ayr kick- off the new campaign at home to Morton the following day in the Betfred Cup. Entry prices have been reduced to £ 13 for adults and £ 6 for concessions.
