Family run Fosters Funeral Directors is hosting a grand opening this Saturday, July 28 from 10am to commemorat­e its new Kilmarnock based parlour.

Provost Jim Todd will have the honour of cutting the ribbon on the day and is set to arrive in a stunning tradition horse and carriage to the new base on Portland Street, alongside founder Tony Foster.

Fosters, the independen­t family run funeral directors is expanding with its second Ayrshire base.

“I have had the honour to help many families in Ayrshire over the last number of years and now pleased to be able to offer the same evel of excellent customer care to the Kilmarnock community,” said Tony.

Saturday’s grand opening will give the community the chance to look behind the scenes of Fosters Funeral Directors and to meet the dedicated Fosters Kilmarnock team.

There will also be hot food for everyone thanks to Browning’s The Bakers who will be bringing along their famous pies.

And the team will also be releasing doves in honour of all those past and present at the official opening just after 10am.

Stuart Logan who leads the Kilmarnock team is looking forward to welcoming as many people from the community on the day.

“We pride ourselves on being a family run independen­t,” said Stuart.

“We offer a truly individual and personal service helping you tailor the funeral that is best suited to your loved one’s needs at the best possible value.

“We are looking forward to our opening day and it is a real honour for the Provost of East Ayrshire to be opening it for us.

“We will be here to meet anyone who wants to pop in, have a look around and talk to me or my team about the services we offer and ask any questions at all about the funeral industry.

Fosters is renowned for being transparen­t with pricing using innovation­s such as their website Cost Calculator and Competitor Comparison­s in order to encourage people to make sure they are giving their loved ones the best possible send off.

“The grand opening will be an opportunit­y for people to see for themselves the high- quality services we have to offer and find out about our low prices, which are as much as 40 or 50 per cent lower than those of our competitor­s without compromisi­ng on quality.”

Since 2005 Fosters Funeral Directors has been at the heart of the communitie­s of Ayrshire, and throughout Scotland.

Regular sponsors of community sporting events and clubs, the open day on July 28 will be raising money for the Ayrshire Hospice, a long- standing charity friend of Fosters.
