John McCracken ( Kilmarnock Barassie) leads the Ayrshire Junior Order of Merit after 10 of the 19 counting competitio­ns.

Wins at the Golf South Ayrshire Open and the Loudoun Junior Open, along with a couple of third place finishes, leaves McCracken well clear of nearest challenger Harvey Broadfoot ( Welbeck), who was second in the Golf South Ayrshire event and equal second at Troon Welbeck.

Ewan Milligan ( Kilmarnock Barassie) is third after a joint first place at the West Kilbride Boys’ Open and other minor placings.

Jack Broun ( Ayr Belleisle) has 100 points courtesy of his good run in the Scottish Boys’ Championsh­ip and sits alongside clubmates Sean Addie and Ruben Lindsay, who enjoyed success at the Byrne Howard Trophy at Royal Troon and the Troon Welbeck Boys’ Open respective­ly.

The next counting events are The Troon Junior Open for the Tom Lehman Trophies and The Ayrshire Boys’ Championsh­ip at Ardeer.

James McIntyre ( Moorpark) was best in the 50- 59 age group with a net 66, two ahead of Alistair McKinnon ( Caprington) and Colin Hume ( Belleisle).

Runner- up in the 60- 69 age group was Jim McCorkell ( Tam O’Shanter) ( 11) 65 while third was William Reilly ( Caprington) ( 6) 66.

Iain McCall ( Prestwick St Nicholas) had the best scratch score of the day with a two over par 70.

McCall won the nearest the hole prize at the second with a distance of 3.5 inches while Bob Cameron ( Ayr Belleisle) won the prize at the 18th with a measuremen­t of two inches.

The prize vouchers were presented by Ayrshire Golf Associatio­n president John Rushbury.

Jim Johnston ( Ayr Belleisle) leads the chase for the Doc Thom Salver in the Ayrshire Order of Merit after 12 of the 21 events.

Johnston has 622.5 points and is followed by Sandy Buchanan ( St Nicholas) on 337.5 and Michael Smyth ( Royal Troon) on 250.

The next counting events are The Rowallan Castle Open and The Scottish Amateur Championsh­ip.
