Broadway group look set to expand

- Stuart Wilson

A group looking to revive Prestwick’s Broadway Cinema is appealing for new members.

Friends of the Broadway Prestwick want to bolster their steering group.

The team’s Julie Twaddell explained:“Having recently been awarded funding by the Scottish Land Fund and the Architectural Heritage Fund, we are particularly interested in hearing from people who have specific skills and knowledge.

“This would be in areas such as accountancy, the legal system, business startup, building management and information technology ( particularly website building / maintenance).

“Applicants must be resident in Prestwick, or come from an area with a KA9 postcode ( such as Monkton).

“We are also particularly interested in hearing from young people who might want to become involved.

“Further recruitment is expected in the future also – skill building is key to our approach, and there’ll be lots of opportunity for this in future.

“Watch this space, as we hope to involve the local community as widely as possible.”

Successful applicants will be expected to attend regular fortnightly meetings, and should expect to hit the ground running.

The positions are unpaid and on a voluntary basis.

Anyone interested can also contact the team on hello@ broadwayp-restwick. org. uk or by sending them a message on Facebook.
