Top line up of events set to entertain at biz week

Now in its tenth year, Ayrshire Business Week, hosted by the Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce, is a prominent spot on the Ayrshire business calendar.

The week launches at Ayr Town Hall on Monday, October 8 at 9.30am with “Ambition to Inspire” supporting the Scottish Government Year of Young People.

The event is sponsored by South Ayrshire Council’s AMBITION programme and supported by both North and East Ayrshire Councils.

Superjam MD Fraser Docherty will head the line- up of speakers and business support organisati­ons will be on hand to answer any questions.

The afternoon sees The Prince’s Trust Awards celebratin­g the successes of young entreprene­urs at Saltcoats Town Hall from 2.00pm.

Tuesday, October 9 starts at Ayrshire College, Unlocking Ayrshire’s Potential with Skills for Business at 9am.

Then, Ayrshire Business Women will be at Lochgreen House Hotel for dinner at 6.30pm.

On Wednesday, October 10, it’s the popular Connect Ayrshire B2B exhibition at the Park Hotel, Kilmarnock.

Starting at 8.30am with an interactiv­e morning of Connect networking, the exhibition itself opens at 9.30am with FREE admission to visit over 100 exhibitor stands and this year there will be a business spotlight at regular intervals throughout the day.

This will be followed at 12.30pm with an Ayrshire Question Time Lunch.

Sponsored by RBS this event will provide opportunit­ies to put questions to a panel of business speakers including the new CEO of Scottish Enterprise.

On Thursday, October11 there will be a Cyber Security Workshop delivered by pupils from Kyle Academy at West Coast Accelerato­r in Dundonald at 2pm.

Friday starts with a Brexit Breakfast at Seamill Hydro sponsored by Business Gateway.

Guest speaker will be Liam Smith from the British Chambers of Commerce who will help you prepare your business for 2019 and beyond.

The grand finale of this busy week is the Ayrshire Business Awards Gala Dinner at Ayr Racecourse.

Sponsored by 1825 and hosted by the fabulously funny Elaine C Smith, the evening starts at 6.30pm and the winners from this year’s Business Awards will be revealed along with the winners of the Ayrshire Modern Apprentice Community Challenge # AwesomeAyr­shire.
