Grappling fans are set for a treat as a host of wrestling stars are set to descend on Kilmarnock.
BCW ( British Championship Wrestling) is BACK – and plenty of top stars will make their way through the ropes at the Grand Hall on August 31.
As always, a household name will be making the trip over the water.
This time it’s extra special – as for the first time an American former WWE superstar will be making their SECOND appearance in Kilmarnock.
Former WWE Crusierweight and Tag Team champion Chavo Guerrero, right, will grace the Grand Hall ring once more.
As a singles wrestler, he is a former ECW World Champion in WWE, and a six- time Cruiserweight Champion between both WWE and WCW.
He has also achieved success in tag team wrestling, being a five- time world tag team champion – winning the WWE Tag Team Championship twice with Eddie Guerrero as Los Guerreros, the WCW World Tag Team Championship once with Corporal Cajun as the Misfits in Action, and the TNA World Tag Team Championship twice with Hernandez.
Between WCW, WWE, and TNA, Guerrero has held 12 championships.
Speaking exclusively to us, Chavo said: “I can’t wait to get back into the ring at Kilmarnock.
“I loved my first time here, and I have wanted to come back ever since!
“The fans are some of the best, especially considering it’s a family show.”
Promoter Graham McKay said: “Chavo is a great guy, and I have became good friends with him.
“He has always went on to me about coming back, so I just thought the time was right.
“Hopefully the fans get behind it and enjoy seeing him again.”
Other stars set to walk down the stage include the likes of Wolfgang, Jack Jester ( pictured left- below), Tucker, Kenny Williams, Bad Bones and BCW champion BT Gunn. It’s not just the stacked cards and massive talent that helps the BCW shows.
One other thing that sets the BCW shows apart from other indie shows is the pyrotechnics on display. Graham said: “I think people expect to go to the Grand Hall and have a small show.
“I don’t think they realise how much work goes into it and how much value for money they are getting.
“Some of the displays we have are as close to a huge show as you will get.
“The names we have had come down the ramp are incredible, some of the biggest stars in the WWE.
“There have been four or five Hall of Famers at our shows, which is unbelievable.
“Considering it works out at £ 10 for a three- hour show if you buy a group ticket, what more can you ask?
“You’d spend that money on a Chinese.”
He added: “It’s hard work putting the shows on but I wanted to top what I have done in previous shows.
“Every show I get the question ‘ how are you going to top that one?’ and I see that as a challenge.
“And then the next show it comes again, the fans seem to be amazed every time which is great.”
