Glens turn it on for double header

Loch Parkers pick up back- to- back victories

-

Craig McEwan was delighted with his side’s spirit over the last week as they recovered from opening day misery.

Glenafton threw away a 2- 0 lead at Blair Park on game day one as they lost 3- 2.

But they bounced back with a 4- 2 win at home to local rivals Cumnock and beat league new boys Petershill 4- 0 away from home.

The Loch Park boss said: “We probably didn’t deserve to lose the opening game, a draw would have been fair.

“But that’s football and we just had to get on with it, which we did very well in my opinion.

“We have picked up two good wins, so we have to keep that momentum going.”

Glens will now face newly promoted sides in their next four league fixtures, starting with Renfrew at home on Saturday.

McEwan said: “There are no easy games in this league, I think everyone has the potential to pick up a result anywhere.

“We just have to try and get as many points on the board as possible.”
