BUTCHER BOY WINNER
US President could jet into Turnberry during Euro trip
Donald Trump could be set for a second visit to Ayrshire in months.
The US President, who will visit Ireland in November, is said to be lining up a short hop to Turnberry to play golf.
He spent two nights at his Carrick resort in July while in Europe on a working trip.
Government officials are now thought to be preparing for his return when he heads back across the Atlantic later this year.
Trump will be in Ireland as part of a bid to renew the “deep historic Congratulation to recent Butcher Boy winner John McGrady, of Weston Avenue, Annbank, who is pictured picking up his prize with Gary Ferguson left and Clark ties” between both nations. He will first fly into Paris to attend Armistice commemorations on November 11.
And security chiefs have been put on alert that Trump is likely to want a visit to Turnberry as part of his schedule.
When leaving South Ayrshire during his summer trip, he pledged to return.
And son, Eric, speaking to the Post in the aftermath of the visit, said: “It might not be next week or next month, but he’ll be back for sure.”
Protests greeted Trump’s summer visit with demos on Turnberry beach.
