Ayrshire sides prepare for Junior Cup

CUMNOCK got themselves back to winning ways as they put high-flying Clydebank to the sword with a 3-2 win.

Peter Leonard’s side were down 2-0 in just 15 minutes, but Dan Carmichael and Scott Anson brought the sides level before half-time.

And Anson doubled his money from the penalty spot just before the hour-mark.

‘Nock will host Coupar Angus in the Junior Cup, a side who have started their East Premier North without a point from seven games, shipping 53 goals in the process.

GLENAFTON turned their fortunes around with a stunning 3-0 win away to KILBIRNIE thanks to a Mick McCann hat-trick.

And the Glens head to Cumbernaul­d, who have signed former Ayr United striker Bryan Prunty and sit third in the Championsh­ip.

TROON picked up their second win of the season with a solid 3-0 victory away to Renfrew.

Christian Nade, Jamie Martin and Ross McCrea gave The Seasiders all three points.

And Jimmy Kirkwood’s side host East Premier North side Lochee Harp.

GIRVAN lost 3-2 to IRVINE VICS as goals from Craig Harvey and Stevie O’Donnell weren’t enough to take anything from the game.

And Girvan host Culter, who are the best performing side ever in the North Superleagu­e, picking up 607 points.

WHITLETTS and CRAIGMARK drew 3-3 in a six-goal Dam Park thriller.

The Ayr side will host West League Two Lanark, whilst the Dalmelling­ton side visit East Premier South side Bathgate.

MAYBOLE had their trip to Wishaw called off due to Storm Ali and they host Aberdeen University. Struggling LUGAR lost 8-1 to Gartcairn and they visit league rivals Royal Albert.

ANNBANK beat Johnstone 3-2 and will host ARDEER in the cup.

MUIRKIRK lost 1-0 to Thorniewoo­d and will host Yoker.
