A great night of floral art
The first meeting of the season for the Auchincruive Floral Art Group was very well attended - it was a pleasure to welcome so many new members to the club.
The club were very lucky to have Christine Logan as the tutor for the evening.
Not only is she a longstanding member of the club, she is also an accomplished exhibitor and had plenty of tips for those new to floral art, as well as for more seasoned members.
Christine’s title for the evening was “Two’s company: Three’s a Crowd.”
She demonstrated two designs – one for beginners using three large blooms; and one for more experienced members incorporating supermarket flowers, contorted willow and chunky wool.
Those in attendance then had their turn to put into practice what had been learned.
Christine was available to give help and advice and soon the hall was buzzing with concentrated effort.
At the end of the evening all the designs were placed together and they created a wonderful, varied show of the many talents in the club.
Christine gave each design a very helpful and constructive critique before drawing the raffle. The prizes were her own arrangements from earlier.
A well- earned vote of thanks brought the very enjoyable evening to a close.
