Blaney family make an appeal

My name is Kathy Chelew from Vancouver, Canada.

I have just found the article regarding the unveiling of the plaque for Blaney’s shop in Ayr from Feb ruary 2015.

My mother was Blaney’s mother- in- law’s cousin.

In 1971 and 1975 my mum and I were fortunate enough to get to spend time with my “Aunt Becca” ( Blaney’s mother- in- law), Blaney, Rebecca, and Joy.

I have been doing family research for the past few years, and would love to know if Rebecca is still living in Ayr, and also if you have any contact information for her daughter, Joy McDowall.

As my middle sister is turning 70 this December, the family is trying to organize a trip back to Scotland in 2019.

I appreciate there are many privacy issues involved with this request, but I am providing my contact information below and if possible, to have this passed onto Joy or her son, Philip Elliott.

Lastly, I would like to thank you for such a great article.

For myself too much time has passed.
