Prestwick lose at top dogs Ardrossan

-

Prestwick Gents found it tough on their travels once again after going down 77- 72 to table- toppers Ardrossan on Saturday.

David Crawford and Darren Weir guided their rinks to victory, but it wasn’t enough.

The Prestwick Ladies couldn’t put home advantage to use on Saturday when they narrowly fell 6461 at home to Ardrossan.

Rebecca Houston guided her rink to a 28- 16 win.

Prestwick Seniors are finding it tough this season and were beaten at home for the second time this season on Saturday.

Alex Thomson and Stan Gibson managed to guide their rinks to victory but it wasn’t enough to prevent Cumbernauld leaving with all two points after a 62- 54 victory.

This Saturday the Seniors are back in action when they face the tough task of travelling to Coatbridge.

Both the Gents and Ladies team take a week off from domestic action as all eyes focus on the SIBA National Fours Playdowns.

The Gents side travel to Inverclyde where they take on Cumbernauld at 9.30am and the Ladies team of Rachel, Val, Lyn and Rebecca Houston make the short journey to Ayr where they take on Whiteinch at 9.30am.

Prestwick will host Gents National fours on Saturday and both the Ladies and Gents on Sunday with the games running from 9.30am to 6pm on both days.

Darren Weir has qualified for the semi finals on the SIBA Under 21 for the second year in a row.

Darren claimed the title 12 months ago at Coatbridge and will aim to make it back to back titles at Under 21 level in March when he takes on Daniel Martin of Abbeyview at Arbroath.
