Concern over new buses

-

On page 16 of Ayrshire Post on November 14 where Prestwick South Community Council want to raise the issue with Stagecoach of Prestwick passengers not being able to board the X77 bus.

This was always going to happen with the introduction of the single decker buses which have about 20 seats less than the double decker buses they were replacing.

On numerous occasions I have witnessed passengers not being able to board the double decker due to it being full, it happened to me twice. How could Stagecoach not foresee this since I’m sure the drivers would have fed this back to local management?

These single deckers that now ply the X77 are not new and were transferred from the X78 Cumnock/ Kilmarnock/ Glasgow route. And low and behold, the X78 got brand new double deckers, the same type that were taken off the X77.

Why was there not a straight forward swap for the X77, new double Deckers for the old ones ? Name and address witheld for publication

Just a note to say I totally agree with theletterlastmonthby CatroniaPaton that the dark entertainment being allowed in Ayr is not doing that town any good.

Ayr is a lovely town.

If you want woods, there are two estates which are still lovely to walk.

There is also the rove, the shore and shops.

Don’t let it all be wasted. Look to the light, not the dark.

Jesus said, I am the light of the world
