Turnberry Golf Club has had a very busy time with the Captain’s Prize held on October 20 bringing in J. Byers ( 8) 37 Stableford points as winner followed by A. MacDuff ( 11) 36, B. Burns ( 8) 356 and S. Stamper ( 0) 33. In the Sunday Medal on 21st. October A. Long ( 8) 78 won followed by J. Boyle ( 1) 78, S. Allan ( 6) 80 and T. Bennett

( 8) 80. In The Saturday medal of the 27th. October I. Ivory ( 9) 72 came in with the winning score followed by C. McVicar ( 6) 75, P. Ferguson ( 7) 71 and A. Forbes ( 15) 77. The Girvan Golf Club gents competed for the Lloyd Wilson Foursome Trophy on Sunday which was won by Andy McFarlane and Jim Cameron ( 12) 66 followed by John Madden and Derek Earle ( 13) 67, Jim Lafferty and Malcom Swan ( 14) 68 all good scores in pleasant weather. This coming Sunday is the December Medal.

BOWLS

Auchinleck: Results: Senior team played Allander away, Auchinleck won by 81- 37.

Gents team played Ayr at home and won by 100- 50. Ladies played Blantyre away, Auchinleck won 64- 57. Indoor Baird Bowl competitio­n results: Auchinleck 6, Mauchline 0; Galston 4, Glaisnock Valley 2.

• SIBA Senior Singles: Jim Burns lost his first match to Paisley 21- 11.

• SIBA Senior Pairs: David Jagodowski and Eddie Duncan won their first match against Ayr 19- 8, they lost in the quarter- final to Lanarkshir­e 17- 5.

• Carrie McLean, Dawn Anderson have both been selected to play for SIBA Under 25 Ladies Internatio­nal team playing in BIBC Women’s Internatio­nals to be held in Belfast in February, also ex Auchinleck player Stephanie Wallace who now plays for Stirling due to her work commitment­s has also been selected. Fixtures: Senior team will play Whiteinch at home on Saturday from 11am– 2pm. Auchinleck are 3 points ahead of Whiteinch with only 2 games to play in league. Ladies and gents teams have no game this week as they are resting in league fixtures.

• Baird Bowl: Sunday: Galston v Auchinleck; Glaisnock Valley v Cumnock.

• Claire Johnston, Coleen Cowie and Dawn Anderson will play in SIBA Ladies Internatio­nal Trial match at Arbroath from 12- 4pm on Sunday.

• George Robertson, Mason Carson, Chelsey McCreadie and Sophie Reid will play in SYIBA Dales Fours at Prestwick, games start at 10am on Sunday.
