Cheese and wine atTravellers Club

-

The final Travellers Club meeting of 2018 for the Ayr Group of RSGS will take the form of a cheese and wine evening, with a photo quiz from Ian Geddes and a talk from Kyle Mountain Club member Ian Magill.

His topic will be “Baltoro Glacier to K2 Base Camp”, describing a visit he made in 2017 to this remote region of Northern Pakistan.

Amid spectacular scenery they trekked along the glacier to where the big mountaineering expeditions have their base camp when climbing the world’s second highest mountain.

Ian and his group only planned to reach the Base Camp, over relatively easy ground.

However as he discovered, mishaps can happen even there.

This should be an entertaining and varied evening in the lead up to Christmas.

It takes place in Ayr Town Hall at 7.30pm on December 12.

Entry is open to all, £ 2.50 to members of RSGS and OIR and under 18s, £ 4 to others. Contact Jim Stewart 01292 283422.
