Mary marks year at perfect weight

But she has no plans to give up p slimming club

Next month is a triumph for a retired d nurse fed up with years of yo- yo o dieting.

Mary Clive will celebrate a whole 12 months that she has stayed at her perfect weight.

The 57- year- old, of Newton in Ayr, lost over four stones after she turned her life around.

Her size 18 frame and 13st 8lb bulk were actually giving her sore knees.

Mary said: “I feel healthier and I love being able to wear and feel comfortabl­e in different clothes.

“Friends and family comment that I look good and younger.”

She has maintained her 9st 7lb weight by regularly attending WW ( formerly Weight Watchers).

Mary joined the WW workshop at the Mercure Hotel in Ayr and became hooked.

She said: “I began to slowly and steadily lose weight and along the way have made new lifelong friends who have given support and encouragem­ent each week.

“My amazing wellness coach Christine Mitchell has been an invaluable support through my journey, with her motivating and encouragin­g approach and her mentorship, bringing humour and fun to the workshops each week.”

Mary retired from her busy nursing job three years go and enjoys travel - but keeps an eye on what she is munching.

She is now a size ten as opposed to the 18 she was.

She said: “When I reached my goal weight I have never gone above this. I now enjoy giving support and encouragem­ent to new and existing members in the weekly workshop and I will continue to go to workshop as the support is invaluable.”

“I also now love the wellness aspect of WW, which doesn’t just focus on the number on the scales any more.

“I have so much more energy and loads more confidence. It’s amazing how good you can feel.”
