Yee- ha for Western family fun at shore

Prestwick Promenade Celebratio­ns are back with a bang to bring you another fabulous family fun day along the shore.

And this year a western theme is set to see attendees pop on their cowboy hats and give their best yee- haa.

The fun starts on Saturday, August 3 with the Parade leaving Sainsbury’s at 11.30am, led by Greenacres Riding School, the Stagecoach open top bus with ‘ Some Wummin Drummin’ who pack a mighty punch, followed by Bryson’s Vintage Cars, Ayrshire Classic Cars and the Prestwick Motorcycle Group.

Residents can dress up in their best western wear to join in the walking, dancing and marching Parade at Boydfield Gardens at 11.45am.

The Provost will officially open the Prestwick Prom at 12.30pm along with her regal assistants, the Prom Prince and Princess.

Fifty stalls sold out in record time this year, so come and browse - there’s something for everyone.

There will be entertainm­ent and laughs galore as always on the main stage from Magic Malky and friends; jig along with the dancers from Fiona Young Zumbettes, and family favourite the Dinosaur Invasion returns with a new guest - watch out for Polar Bear Oso. Throughout the day, there will be a dedicated section for the Fun Dog Show and Have A Go Agility Ring.

And there’s the roaring fun of Codona’s Fun Fair; a putting competitio­n at Beach & Putt, historical re- enactments from Dad’s Army and the Swords of Dalriada, fire engines, horse rides and more.

For the first year ever – the Official Prom 80s/ 90s Disco will be at the Parkstone Hotel.

There will be a prize for best dressed and all proceeds will go right back in to next year’s festival.

Boogie on down from 7pm until 12.30am.
