Revellers in for treat at four- day Prestfest

- ABI SMILLIE

It’s the hottest music event on the calendar where businesses, shops and pubs alike throw open their doors to revellers.

Prestfest returns next weekend in what organisers call ‘ musical mayhem right on your doorstep’.

The four day extravaganza is set to entertain crowds in various venues across Prestwick’s Main Street including the Golf Inn, Bar Central, The Buf and the Red Lion.

The Buf will kick start festivities as they host an open mic event on Thursday ( August 1) with all welcome to show off their talents.

And on Saturday, get set for an afternoon of toe tapping traditional music in the Buf restaurant as they celebrate a ‘ Mad for Trad’ theme with Hingin By A Threed from 1- 3pm and The Spancil Hillbillies from 3- 5pm. The Red Lion are also starting the weekend early as they open their doors to Prestfest on Thursday.

The bar and restaurant will welcome The Penetrations, The Night train Jam Sesh, Kind of Blue, Alan Frew and many more over the four- day festival.

Memphis, The Marauders, Nick Morgan and The Usual Suspects get set to entertain revellers at the Golf Inn from Friday to Sunday.

And David Armstrong’s barber will welcome Djs Jardi, Jubemi and Axor to the shop on Saturday from 6pm - 12am. There’s top prices to be won as Bar Central will give one lucky singer a top prize of a £ 200 voucher for the Blythswood Square Hotel, Glasgow at the end of their karaoke evening on Sunday.

Prices for second and third place include a £ 50 Bar Central voucher and a bottle of pink gin.

Just turn up on the night and put your name down to compete.
