Community Hearing Support at Troon Library – The next date for hearing aid advice, new batteries and tubing will be held in the Library on Tuesday August 6 from 2pm to 4pm.

Troon Foodbank continues throughout the Summer months in Troon Old Parish Church.

Food can be collected on Tuesdays and Fridays in Room 2 from noon to 2pm.

Donations welcomed.

Paws to Read is a challenge for young readers aged from 5 to 12. During the Summer holiday youngsters are asked to leave their screens and take out a book from Troon Library. Points are awarded and prizes are on offer from the Lucky Dip.

Troon Art Club Annual Exhibition will be held in the Boys Brigade Hall next to Troon Swimming Pool. The Exhibition run daily from 10am until 8pm closing on Saturday August 10 at 4pm.

The art work on sale is priced to suit all pockets and tastes. Unframed works in the portfolio are very good value. Results of the Children’s Competitio­ns are also on show.

Seagate Holiday Club for P1 to P7 begins on Monday July 29.

Crossroads South Ayrshire is holding a Birthday Tea & Needlework Display on Saturday, August 3, from 2pm to 4pm in St Ninian’s Church Hall, Bentinck Drive, Troon.

Join them to celebrate Loi’s birthday and thank her for many years of fundraisin­g.

Enjoy a display of needlework created by members of Sewing Together. Tea, coffee, soft drinks and homebaking are available.

Tickets £ 3 at the door.

Town MP Philippa Whitford broke her ankle while helping in a woods clear- up.

She ended up spending five days in Ayr Hospital after the drama at Tarbolton woods last week.

Philippa had joined volunteers tidying up a spot on the banks of the River Fail.

But she slipped , sliding down a banking, her leg twisting behind her.

She said: “I heard a crunch and I thought my knee was going to explode. My foot was pointing the wrong way.”

She had to undergo an operation to pin bones bank together.
