Who is your health service hero?

-

The Scottish Health Awards are on the hunt to find Scotland’s most dedicated healthcare professionals.

But there is only a limited time left for the public to nominate.

NHS Scotland, the Scottish Government and the Daily Record are urging people across South Ayrshire to submit their nominations before Thursday, August 29.

The Scottish Health Awards celebrate the NHS staff, support workers, volunteers and specialist teams who go above and beyond to provide exceptional care and support to their patients and their families.

Each year these often- unsung heroes help thousands of Scots and the annual Scottish Health Awards aim to give these extraordinary people the recognition they deserve.

Patients, families, work colleagues and members of the public can make a nomination for one of 17 categories.

These range from the doctor award for an individual providing excellent NHS care to the newly launched global citizen award, which recognises an individual or team who not only work in a health and social care day job but also volunteer in global health and social care work.

The Scottish Health Awards is the most prestigious awards ceremony for professionals across NHS Scotland and health and social care organisations.

All finalists will be invited to attend the awards ceremony at the Corn Exchange, Edinburgh, on Thursday, November 14.

To nominate go to www. scottishhealthawards. com by 5pm on August 29.
