St Ninian’s Episcopal Church are holding an Open Day on Saturday August 24 from 12noon until 4pm.

This is an excellent opportunit­y to look at the wonderful Wall Hanging in the Large Hall.

Ladies who worked on the Wall Hanging for 3 years will be available to point out the various sections and explain the background and meaning of the symbols and the Tree of Life.

Tea and coffee will be served. Postcards and brochures will be on sale.

Date for Your Diary – Interested in singing? Why not join Troon Chorus which resumes rehearsals on Monday August 26 in Portland Church Hall, South Beach.

Come along and give it a try.

Troon Golf Weekender 2019 will be held over the Darley, Lochgreen and Fullarton courses from August 23 to 25.

This is an exciting competitio­n which attracts amateur golfers from all over Scotland and the UK. Entries for all classes should be sent in by Monday August 19.

Competitor­s should be members of a recognised club and should hold a Senior Golf Handicap.

Troon Library – Story Time for children aged 3- 5years on Saturday 17 from 10.15 to 10.45am.

Booking essential at the Library Reception Desk.

Troon Writers Club resumes in the Troon Library on Thursday August 15 from 4.30pm to 6.45pm.

A friendly sociable club which welcomes new and establishe­d writers. Publishing advice and networking support available.

Troon Foodbank continues throughout the Summer months in Troon Old Parish Church.

Food can be collected on Tuesdays and Fridays in Room 2 from 12noon to 2pm.

Donations welcomed.

Paws to Read is a challenge for young readers aged from 5 to 12. During the Summer holiday youngsters are asked to leave their screens and take out a book from Troon Library.

Points are awarded and prizes are on offer from the Lucky Dip.

Troon Girls’ Brigade hold their Enrolment Night in St Medd- an’s Church Hall on Monday August 26 from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.

The Girls’ Brigade welcomes girls from P1 upwards.

Full Company resumes on Monday September 2 in St Meddans’ Church Hall, Church Street, Troon.
