-

Hansel is to host a Dead Good Lunch featuring crime writers Douglas Skelton and Michael Malone.

The lunch will be held on Sunday, September 15, from noon at Lochgreen House Hotel, Troon.

Hailing from Ayr, Michael Malone has penned 12 books and is a prolific poet.

He also leads creative writing workshops for adults and schools.

Michael’s latest book ‘ After He Died’ is described as an explosive psychological thriller.

Former journalist Douglas Skelton has written 20 books, both fiction and non- fiction, and is known for his character Davie McCall, who appears in four of his books set in Glasgow.

Douglas co- wrote ‘ The Frightener’, centred on Glasgow’s famous icecream wars case.

His current novel ‘ Thunder Bay’ is set on the fictitious island of Stoirm and centres on two murders 15 years apart.

It has been longlisted for the McIlvanney Prize for the best Scottish crime book of the year. The winner will be announced at the Bloody Scotland festival in Stirling in September.

Agnes Paton from Hansel said: “Scottish crime writing is internationally recognised for its grit, depth and page turning plots and we’re delighted to present our third lunch with another two awardwinning novelists.

“Both their latest books have been widely received and we’re looking forward to hearing more about them and what inspires them to write.”

At the three- course lunch guests will hear from the authors and can ask questions. Both authors will be signing books.

Tickets cost £ 38 from Debbie Campbell on 01563 830340 or Debbie. campbell@ hansel. org. uk.

Proceeds will go towards Hansel’s Wilson House refurbishment appeal.

Hansel supports people with a disability or autism and their families. For more information see www. hansel. org. uk.
