Maybole takes Centre stage

-

The Carrick Centre held an open night to remember last week.

They were promoting the wide range of activities and support available at their base in Maybole.

On the night there was plenty of fun for all the family with face painting, table football and a Toy Story mascots song and dance session.

A string of animals also turned up in force as the youngsters enjoyed cuddling and feeding the rabbits, guinea pigs and ducks.

A handful of charities set up stalls in a bid to raise awareness.

And Bill Grant MP and Douglas Hutchison, South Ayrshire Council Director of Education, were also in attendance.

Cent re Manager, Andrea Hutchison, said: “What a night it was.

“Our regular lets were there to showcase the wide range of activities and support available throughout The Carrick Centre. That includes Supported Yoga, cooking classes, T’ai Chi, craft groups, the Food Bank and Dansarena Musical theatre – to name but a few.

“We work in partnership with South Ayrshire Council to provide an abundance of free activities and lunch during the school holidays for P1 to S2 as well as a varied support programme during term time.

“It was wonderful to see the familiar faces coming through our doors and to realise the impact the Centre has on our communities.

“This cannot be done without the volunteers, partnerships and support from funders, which is all greatly appreciated. Thanks to everyone that came along.”
