Bulls warm up for Sunday bow with a narrow victory

-

“This game was really beneficial,” insisted Murchie.

“It gave the boys the opportunity to get out there before next weekend.

“It was a massive improvement from last week’s hit out and there was some really pleasing things on display.

“We will take those forward into prep for it all kicking off next weekend and we will be raring to go.”

The Bulls’ scores came from Tyler Beary, Tom Lewis and Craig Gossman.

You can catch the Bulls this weekend in the opening round of the FOSROC Super6 when they welcome Heriots to Millbrae on Sunday at 2pm.

It is set to be the biggest day in recent memory, with a bumper crowd expected to cheer on Ayrshire’s new semiprofessional team.

A raft of pre- match entertainment includes a climbing wall and vintage car display, with representatives from the Armed Forces and Poppy Scotland present to commemorate Remembrance Sunday.

The game is also being live streamed on the BBC Scotland website.

You can book your tickets at www. ayrrugbyclub. co. uk or pay on arrival.

The FOSROC Super6 league aims to bridge the gap between club rugby and the pro- teams.

Last year six of Scotland’s elite clubs were chosen to make the step to semi- professional, with Ayr joined by Stirling County, Heriots, Watsonians, Boroughmuir and Melrose.

County, Heriots and Watsonians opted to keep their name, with the other three rebranding to maintain a separate identity from their respective clubs. Ayr became the Ayrshire Bulls, Boroughmuir became the Boroughmuir Bears and Melrose became the Southern Knights.
