George: I could not refuse Vics

-

George Grierson claims he has unfinished business after rejoining Whitletts, nine months after he quit due to health issues.

And the new boss got his second stint off to a flier by beating Cambuslang 3- 2 to lift Vics out of the Championship drop zone and end a winless six game league run.

Grierson, now recovered from a double hip replacement, admitted: “When I stepped down in January, I felt my days in the dugout were behind me.

“But when the chairman called to gauge if I was interested I couldn’t refuse.

“Given the circumstances when I had to step down, I have some unfinished business to attend to.”

Vics were twice ahead at Cambuslang through Isaac Kerr and Michael Reilly but were pegged back both times only for Thomas Donovan to grab the winner on the hour.
