Proud to help transform charity’s residential home
At a Hansel fundraiser Caledonian’s managing director Tom Middleton was impressed with Kay and the presentation.
It came up in conversation that the charity were in need of enhancing their lounge area.
Kay said: “Tom offered his help and gave us lots of different choices and gave us good advice regarding our options.”
As a local, family- run business Caledonian takes pride in its active role in the Ayrshire community and was thrilled to be able to offer its products and services free of charge to one of Ayrshire’s most prominent charities.
Wilson House was in need of some double glazing and the decision was to have two lounges double glazed. Wilson House offers residence to a variety of service users, from young people who require a stepping stone between living at home with their parents and independence to older service users who are winding down.
It is a priority for Hansel to offer their residents comfortable, pleasant surroundings.
They opted for rosewood externally, which is in keeping with the style of the building, and white internally which would brighten the room up.
Like any other installation, planning was important but in this particular case the staff both at Caledonian and Hansel had to ensure things went exactly to plan as alternative arrangements were in place due to the residential lounge being out of bounds while the work was underway.
Both the staff at Hansel and Caledonian worked towards the work being carried out with as little disruption as possible to the residents.
Kay said of the installation: “Everything went exactly to plan.
I couldn’t fault anything. The installation team were great.”
The staff and residents at Hansel are all delighted with the new French doors and windows.
Kay said: “The double glazing has transformed the lounge and improved the aesthetic.”
Tom and all the staff at Caledonian are very proud to have contributed towards the improvement of the residential area, which is enjoyed by many of the residents at Hansel.
Not only have the French doors and windows improved the aesthetic of the lounge but in practical terms the lounge will now be much warmer and outside noise will be reduced, making for a much more comfortable and brighter environment for the residents to relax in.
Caledonian look forward to contributing to future renovations at Hansel.
