Speaking before the big switch- on Craig, 20, said this year’s display will be his best ever.

He said: “It takes me three weeks to complete.

“This year will be on a larger scale and contains an expanded winter scene with the more animals.

“I’ve now been doing this for over five years and this is the biggest and brightest yet.

“With me being addicted to the Christmas light obsession, I budget £ 1000 per year to replace old and add new to the display and I start planning as early as August.”

And he also tipped his hat to the man who helped fuel his passion for festive lights displays.

He explained: “There’s a chap called Alex Weir who lives down the road and he’s the one who really inspired me to do this. He showed me how to do it.

“I’ve been doing this since 2011 and I’m addicted to it.

“Even though I’ve got a few things just now, next year it’ll be even bigger.

“You always find room when you see something you like.

“When you see somebody look at the display and smile then you know it’s been worth it.

“I’ve been planning this since August and spent the last three weekends setting it all up and some of my suppliers are based as far afield as Kent.”

With the display now fully operational, Craig is encouraging everyone to pop along to his home and take a peek at his jaw- dropping festive scene.

He said: “The display will be on every night from 5pm to 10pm right through until January.”
