Woman’s knife terror threat to castrate man

Brutal reaction to her ‘ revelation’

Fiscal Depute, Laurin Campbell, said the complainer retired to bed at 9pm but at 12.40am he was awakened by banging at the front door.

“He looked out and saw the accused attempting entry,” said Ms Campbell.

The complainer opened the door and Thomson made an allegation about him sleeping with someone she knew, before saying: “I’m going to stab you.”

The victim noted that she had a large black handled knife in her possession and locked the door.

Thomson, though, attempted entry by trying to smash the glass panel with the knife.

Ms Campbell continued: “The complainer, due to threats being made, left the property by the back door but he continued to hear glass being smashed.”

Police attended and they saw the accused sitting on the front step with a knife stuck in the ground.

Ms Campbell said: “They handcuffed the accused and she continued with her threats, with one saying she would “castrate the man” for “interfering.”

She was taken to Ayr Police Station where she was cautioned and charged.

The court was told that the damage to the victim’s front door was £ 200.28.

Thomson’s defence solicitor Glenn Davis said: “A revelation was made to her after a night out which left her devastated but she should not have behaved in the manner libelled.

“She accepts that it was not the proper way to go about this matter.”

Mr Davis gave Sheriff Desmond Leslie some written character references on behalf of the accused.

Sheriff Leslie told the accused: “This was a complete and total loss of self control here which manifested itself into this vigilante activity.

“Make no mistake about this, these are serious matters.”

Thomson was given a structured deferred sentenced and the case continued until April 27.

Thomson’s bail was continued.
