Troon Friends of the Ayrshire Hospice are holding a Coffee Morning with Pancakes on Saturday-February 8 from 10am until noon in Troon Old Parish Church Hall.

Tickets are priced £ 2.50.

New to Troon – A Rock Choir will meet in Troon Old Parish Church Hall on Thursday mornings from 11.30am to 1pm. A love of singing is all that is needed.

Palm Court Tea Room – enjoy an old- fashioned afternoon tea with music from Betty Penman at the piano – on Saturday February 8 in St Meddan’s Church Hall from 2pm to 4pm.

Tickets priced £ 5/£ 3 concession with proceeds going to St Meddan’s Fabric Fund.

Arts Society Ayrshire – A reminder for members and visitors. The February Lunch and Lecturewil­l take place at the Brig o ’ Doon Hotel, Alloway on Monday February 24.

For catering purposes please book your place for the lunch by February 10.

The lecture will be given by Professor Norman H. Tennent and he will focus on the travels of wellknown artists, musicians and writers who have travelled to Scotland. Chopin, Turner and Mendelssoh­n will feature in the lecture.

The next monthly meeting will be held on Monday February 10 at 1.15pm in the Walker Hall.

The lecture and presentati­on is entitled The Private Palaces of the Cote D’Azur and is given by Nicholas Merchant. Visitors very welcome. Bookworms – if you enjoy gardening as well as reading the staff of Troon Library would like to hear from you.

They propose to develop the space around the library to make it a place of relaxation and peace. All ages can join in the project which should give Troon a welcoming garden for visitors and residents.

Would you like to be able to use a computer? Free Lessons are being given in the Marr Educationa­l Resource Centre ( behind Troon Library) every Friday morning from 10am until 11.30am. The classes are small and individual help is given.

Troon Connect – Looking for some advice and support; are you concerned about your health or your partner’s. Call in at The Haven, 9 Academy Street Troon every Thursday from 2pm to 4pm.

The Troon Connect Hub can give advice on local services available, community groups and activities.

Calling all Knitters! Knitted baby hats are needed in Malawi where the nights can be extremely cold. Portland Church is sending two Elders to Limphasa, Malawi in May to hand over gifts of seeds, fertiliser and solar lamps. Knitted baby hats will also be taken. Please hand in to Portland Church.

Mindfulnes­s for Stress Relief meets every Wednesday evening in St Ninian’s Church
