It pays to have a plan B for your dream day

-

The big day arrives and there are a thousand things to think about, but did you think about what might happen if things go wrong?

It might be a good idea to have a few back up plans in place just in case there’s an emergency that you didn’t think about.

Here’s a few common mishaps that could spoil your day and some ideas how your plan B can save it.

1. The car breaks down. Weddings follow a schedule, break that schedule and you could be in trouble.

If your transport breaks down things could back up badly so your plan B is to put someone with a reliable car on standby just in case, that way a simple phone call is enough to sort it out and avoid the bride or groom being late to the ceremony. 2. Wardrobe malfunction. Getting into the dress and making sure it’s as perfect as it was when you first tried it on can be stressful.

What happens if you catch it on a nail on the way out the door?

It makes sense to ask that one of your bridesmaids is handy with a needle and thread.

That way, she can simply stitch the dress and the bride will be good to go to her dream day.

3. The best man forgets the rings.

The best man may have had a few the night before and left the rings on the coffee table in his living room. Plan B here is to find a spare set of replicas that can be used in lieu of the real things.

4. The weather turns against you

You may have booked the wedding for July but you can’t control the weather, so just double check that the venue you are using has spaces in case of weat h e r emergencies.

When checking out the best place for your event just ask the wedding planner what their Plan B is.

5. The DJ cancels at the last minute.

The reception could be a disaster unless you remember to bring your I Pod and phone.

Music can be easy to access these days and all you need is a big enough blue tooth speaker to provide entertainment.

Find someone in your party that has a love for music, and ask them to be on standby just in case.

Using apps such as Spotify or Apple Music, you can easily get the party going as long as you can stream on the night.

Having a Plan B could be the difference between wedding day perfection and wedding day disaster, so just a few moments of extra planning might be just what is needed to save the day.
