Woman jumps out of plane for charity
dive attempt in June and she’s already set up a JustGiving page.
She wants to pay something back to the Strathyre House staff and the work they do after relying upon their services .
She explained: “I have been going to the centre since May 2018 and since towards the end of January 2020 I have been working with manager Tracy Gilmour one- to- one to try and build my confidence and self esteem, to help me feel stronger.
“Amanda Young, a support worker, has also been very supportive to me in many ways, helping me attend appointments and have my voice heard. All the other staff have been great!”
After a difficult period in her life Audrey turned to the NHS community mental health team– only to be told they could not help her.
“I was left feeling hurt, deflated and let down by the system,” said Audrey, who plans to become a peer worker.
“But Amanda and Tracy both said to me to focus on myself and build my inner strength to move my life forward and that they will support me to do this.”
Audrey will be in good company during her 14,000 feet sky dive as peer worker at Strathyre House, Ross Gray, 42, is going to jump out in an additional fundraising attempt for the organisation.
He said: “I just want to raise funds, raise awareness and give depression and anxiety a slap in the coupon!”
