Culzean Castle to be the Old Kent Road?

-

to the likes of some of the more exclusive locations like Mayfair and Park Lane, which sit at the other – loftier – end of the board.

Makers Winning Moves UK - who are producing this game under official license from the MONOPOLY brand, owned by Hasbro - cite these four reasons for claiming the castle and Old Kent Road could be “the perfect fit”:

They say firstly, like Old Kent Road Culzean Castle is of course very old. It dates back to 1777.

Secondly, they argue, it is extremely high- profile and talked about – just like Old Kent Road.

And thirdly, Culzean Castle is very much visited, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors from across Scotland and beyond.

In a MONOPOLY game Old Kent Road is extremely visited, as there is a Community Chest card directing players to ‘ Go back to Old Kent Road’.

Finally, the castle and heritage lovers would consider it beyond sacrilege for any development to take place near the coveted site. Arguably Old Kent Road is the least attractive investment for MONOPOLY players as the returns if players land on it are the lowest of all the properties in the game whether there are houses on it – or a hotel.

George Shrimpton, Custom Games Executive at Winning Moves UK, said: “Culzean Castle could be the perfect fit for Old Kent Road.”

Voting opened last week and closes on Tueday March 17.
