Carlo Walker reckons he has made his best signing ever after agreeing a tie- up with Valspar FC.

And he revealed how the long establishe­d youth club snubbed interest from Premier junior teams to nail their colours to Maybole.

Walker, preparing for his seventh season as ‘ Bole boss after 18 years as a player, claimed: “This is an exciting developmen­t for both clubs and definitely the best signing I have made.

“It will provide a pathway for players to make the step up from youth football and play for Maybole in the new Under 20 League which is being launched on Friday evenings.

“Valspar are incredibly well run and a name that everyone recognises.

“Three Premier teams wanted to join forces with them but happily they chose us.

“I have a great relationsh­ip with Valspar

KILWINNING striker Ben Lewis is staying for a twelfth season while full- back Sam McCloskey will make it five seasons with the Buffs.
