Country music from behind dashboard

Cars will be driven into Ayr Racecourse for a country music extravaganza.

It’s a safe way to get back hearing live music and the “Country Music Drive In Show” will roll onto the course on Thursday, July 30.

And country fans are sure to be dancing in their car seats.

Organisers say it is a “stellar line-up” and will feature four Irish Country acts.

JMG Music came up with the idea to use the Racecourse ground in a bid to try and generate some income for the live music industry.

Gary Gamble will perform his impressions of Daniel O’Donnell , the fiddling maestro Stephen Smyth , young sensation Owen Mac and the fabulous Keltic Storm band will take to the stage.

Organiser James McGarrity said: “They will all perform their best known hit songs for a hand clapping and toe tapping evening of fun filled music.

“We have seen our thriving events business lose 100% of its work from March 15.

“A lot of singers and musicians are finding it tough to survive at the moment with no work and little financial support ,so we came up with the Drive-in music concept which is proving popular in Ireland.

“Following a rallying call from legions of music fans in Scotland where we receive fantastic on going support for all our shows on a regular basis, we decided it was only fair we came across with this tour kicking off at the end of July.

“The Drive -in shows are totally safe as people will be able to watch and listen to the show from the comfort of their own vehicles.

“It’s some light at the end of the tunnel for what has been a few tough months.”

Gates open 6:15pm and tickets are £21.50.
