Drugs seized after swoop on caravan parks

A 70-year-old woman was one of a duo of people arrested following a police operation on Friday in Ayrshire and Lanarkshire.

Officers acting under warrant searched four properties in Lanarkshire.

The properties were located in Bell Grove, Carluke, Glenlee Street, Hamilton, Cordiner Court, Lesmahagow and Penman Avenue, Rutherglen.

And a further two properties in Ayrshire were searched, one in Crofthead Caravan Park and Craig Tara Holiday Park, both in Ayr.

A man, aged 40, was arrested and charged in connection with drug offences and offences under Proceeds of Crime Act.

A woman, aged 70, was arrested and charged in connection of offences under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

Both have been released on an undertaking to appear at court at a later date
