Little Noah’s charity walk for the homeless

-

An intrepid Ayrshire schoolboy completed a seven-hour sponsored walk for the homeless on Saturday.

Annbank PS pupil Noah Redmond, of Mossblown, walked from Stair to Ayr, in aid of homeless charities and his JustGiving page has helped reach £1300.

Proud Mum Amy said:“It went brilliantly! We completed 13.1 miles (tracked through fitbit) in around 7 hours. Noah was trooping on amazingly. When we hit Ayr that’s when his feet started to get sore, but he took every single step and actually ran across the finish line! We are very proud of him.”

She added:“His total is just over £1300 and we are giving £1000 to Seascape and anything above that is for Noah to go out and buy warm clothing, food etc for the homeless.

“We wanted to do this for something worthwhile and this definitely is. Noah and his Dad Frazer ran, jogged and walked from our house in Mossblown to Ayr and back and I think it was about eight miles. He absolutely loved it, so we thought this would be something he’d enjoy. But this was something a wee bit more difficult. He’s a wee sensitive soul but his heart’s in the right place and he’s absolutely over the moon with the level of support he’s received.”

Amy, 32, explained the background to

Noah’s fundraiser.

She said:“Noah and his sisters, Ella and Macy, were looking out the window in the pouring rain one day. I told them how lucky we were to have a home and food, as some didn’t have any and my son became very upset and decided that he wanted to do something to help. He decided to take on the sponsored walk from Stair to Ayr to raise money for the homeless in Scotland.”

Noah turned eight earlier this month.
