- ABI SMILLIE

The late EuroMillions winner Colin Weir’s seafront mansion has been put on the market for a cool £ 1million.

The 5- bed detached villa on Belleisle Drive in Ayr offers uninterrupted sea views towards Arran and boasts security- controlled gates outside and a private lift inside.

Number 22 – listed on the market at offers over £ 995,000 – is located within ‘ The Mansions’, an exclusive development of luxury homes constructed by Ashleigh Homes around 2005.

Colin, a former cameraman at STV, snapped up the lavish pad for £ 1.5million in 2018 after splitting with his wife- of- 38- years, Christine, last year.

He signed over the multi- million pound Frognal House in Troon to Christine, giving her sole ownership.

The pair scooped a whopping £ 161million back in 2011, making them Scotland’s biggest lottery winners.

Photos of the plush 4,500 sq ft property give an insight into the lottery winner’s surroundings before he passed away in December, aged 71, from sepsis and an “acute kidney injury”.

The home comprises of four reception rooms, five bedrooms – three of which are with en suite facilities – an open plan designer kitchen/ dining room, large utility and a private lift.

A home office/ viewing room on the first floor offers the best views in the house.

Entrance to the property is controlled by security gates which open to a sweeping monobloc parking area with space for multiple cars and access to a separate double garage.

Estate agent Corum describe the home as a “once in a generation” opportunity.

They say: “This distinctive and refined property will appeal to the most discerning of purchasers.

“It is without doubt a once in a generation opportunity to acquire a truly special home in one of the rarest of seafront locations.

“The property boasts a simply superb internal specification that includes fabulous designer kitchen, private lift, porcelanosa tiling, contemporary bathrooms, courtesy lighting, and oak staircase all combined with a stylish sublime interior that perfectly

complements the modern design.”

Last week we reported that Colin spent his fortune at a rate of almost £ 100,000 a week.

His garage housed four luxury cars – a vintage Bentley Arnage, worth £ 10,000, a £ 28,250 three- year- old Jaguar F- Pace SUV, a £ 24,000 four- year- old Mercedes Benz E Class Estate and a 2019 Mercedes Benz V Class people carrier, valued at about £ 35,000.

Colin owned furniture, jewellery and artworks valued at about £ 212,000 and partly owned three thoroughbred racing horses while plunging cash into his beloved Partick Thistle football club.
