Legal eagles are walking tall for great charity causes

-

A group of ‘ legal eagles’ are embarking on a virtual walk for two good causes in South Ayrshire.

Members of staff at the McKinstry Group Solicitors, in Ayr’s Sandgate and in Girvan’s Dalrymple Street, plan to put their best feet forward for Whiteleys Retreat and South Ayrshire Foodbank.

And their virtual destination? Berlin!

The team has already set up a JustGiving page and hope to raise a whopping £ 5,000.

A spokesperson for the group said: “We’re on a mission to raise crucial charity funds, supporting our local community, and promote some much needed positivity!”

The group were due to spend time in the German capital to celebrate 35 years of the McKinstry Group earlier this year, but it was knocked on the head due to the COVID- 19 pandemic.

The spokesperson explained: “This April, we had been due to celebrate 35 years of The McKinstry Company with a trip to Berlin, but like many other exciting events this year it wasn’t meant to be.

“So we have set an office wide challenge of “Walk to Berlin!”

“The approximate distance between Ayr and Germany’s capital city is 1,100.

“We are pulling together as a team and clocking up roughly 30 miles, or more, each over the coming weeks.

“Due to there still being strict social distancing measures we thought making the most of the great outdoors and racking up some miles in the name of charity would be a great way of promoting some positivity and support the local community.”
