WOS LEAGUE

-

Dean Keenan reckons Troon’s second win on the spin in the West of Scotland Premier League shows they have made great strides.

The Seasiders came from behind to beat Rossvale 2- 1 thanks to a goal from Jaime Gallagher and a stunning solo effort from Jordan Morton.

Troon now head to Beith on Saturday and No 2 Keenan insists this will be an acid test.

He said: “Rossvale beat us twice last season but we have added quality in the final third. It’s a brilliant win and a game we would have lost before.

“We don’t have a great record at Beith and they have made a very good start so it will be a hard game.”

Keenan, who came off with a shoulder injury, hopes to be fit as Troon face an on- song Beith who crushed Benburb 5- 0 with strikes from Calum Watt ( 2), Odhran Markey, Paul Frize and Darren Jones.

KILWINNING beat former leaders Darvel thanks to a goal from Alex McWaters.

HURLFORD came from 1- 0 down at half- time to beat Rutherglen 2- 1 with goals from Mick Wardrope and Lewis Morrison ( penalty).

IRVINE MEADOW beat Largs 1- 0 with an Andy McLaughlin 25 yard free- kick and held on after Mark McLennan and Jared Willet were sent off.

CRAIGMARK, who have added loan signings Ryan Caddis from Cumnock and Kieran McCrum from Kilbirnie, hit back from 2- 0 down to beat MAYBOLE 3- 2 in Conference A.

Robert Paterson and Jai Holland had ‘ Bole – who have signed Chrissy Campbell on loan from Cumnock – looking good but ‘ Mark levelled and then won a penalty after John Frame was sent off for a trip on Caddis.

Darren Johnson saved the spot- kick from Caddis but was beaten by the rebound.

MUIRKIRK beat Ashfield 2- 1 thanks to goals from Gavin Goodall and Gavin Hay. Nathan Bogle saved a penalty.

ANNBANK striker Jordan Ryan bagged a double in a 2- 0 win away to Maryhill. The home side missed from the spot.

IRVINE VICS trailed to a Scott Sherrie goal at home to LUGAR in Conference B. But a second- half double from Ayr United farmout Brian Connor turned the tables.
